Migraine Headaches Can Have More Than One Cause

migraineDo you know someone who has severe migraine headaches that make them to retreat to bed for the day, shunning bright light? It is thought that migraines occur when there is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Headaches are triggered when blood vessels in the brain become dilated and inflamed, causing irritation in nerve fibers. Misalignment of vertebrae in the spine, (subluxation), may play a part in irritating nerves that can make a person more susceptible to these imbalances. Certain foods and even hormones can trigger an episode.
